The University Senate invites the campus community to view design concepts and discuss the planning for the east campus at a forum on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at 3:00 p.m., in Room 1400 of Marie Mount Hall.
The University and a private developer are beginning the process of redeveloping a 38-acre parcel on the east side of Route 1, which currently houses administrative and service facilities and the Leonardtown community. This ambitious project at the University's front door is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a vibrant, urban mixed-used development and bring amenities and activities to College Park, including an upscale hotel, graduate student and market rate housing, upscale stores, and restaurants.
