Jeremiah is a dedicated professional in the field in Higher Education. Joining us from Southern California, Jeremiah holds a Bachelors in Political Science (Law & Policy) from California Polytechnic University, Humboldt and a Masters in Public Policy from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, specializing in Higher Education Policy.

Prior to joining the University of Maryland, Jeremiah served as an Academic Advisor to students in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. During his time with Cal Poly, Jeremiah focused on Advisor accessibility and led efforts to garnish feedback from students on advising services, worked to re-ignite the Men of Color Success Initiative, and facilitated the campus's annual State of Blackness. He also advocated for increased tutoring offerings, partnered with national industry to bring networking opportunities directly to students, and worked closely with students in STEM education to ensure retention while offering remedies to ailing and persistent academic challenges.

With extensive experience in developing and implementing shared governance practices, he is excited to continue that work here at the University of Maryland, College Park. Jeremiah brings a blend of mission focused advising, pragmatic leadership and enthusiasm to the Office of the University Senate.

Currently, Jeremiah is working towards his Ph.D in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies at Howard University where, once obtained, he hopes to deepen the impact of student support services in higher education through research driven approaches.
