Juel Okpara

Juel Okpara (she/her) is a Coordinator for the University Senate at the University of Maryland, College Park where she supports the shared governance process that shapes the campus community. As a Maryland native and UMD alumna, Juel is excited to contribute to the institution that molded her academic and professional journey.

Prior to joining the Senate Office, Juel gained policy coordination experience from her previous roles with the Maryland General Assembly as well as national advocacy organizations. Her background with legislative tracking, administrative support, and coordination enables her to avidly contribute to the Senate Office’s shared governance initiatives in service of the campus community.

Outside of work, Juel enjoys cooking, discovering new music, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
