As I reflect back on my career at the University of Maryland, there are certain experiences which stand out. Certainly, my tenure on the University Senate is one of those powerful professional experiences. I served for three years as the senator for the Executive, Administrative and Managerial Staff group. I also chaired the Campus Affairs Committee for two years, and served on the Sexual Harassment Task Force for two years. Through my Senate experiences, I developed a much broader picture of the workings of the University. I also had the opportunity to work with a very talented group of students, staff and faculty. It was important for me to give back to the University which has been such a large part of my life. Serving on the Senate gave me that opportunity to make a difference in the life of the University of Maryland.
