| Proposal: | The University of Maryland Plan of Organization (Article 6.3) stipules that "review of the current Plan of Organization shall be undertaken at least every ten years by a committee composed of members elected by the Senate." The Senate Executive Committee (SEC) developed a slate of candidates as defined in Article 6 for the Plan of Organization Review Committee (PORC) for Senate approval in fall 2013. PORC began its review process in October 2013. As part of this review, PORC determined that changes to the Senate Bylaws were also necessary in order to align the Bylaws with recommended changes to the overall Plan of Organization. |

| Actions: | The Plan of Organization Review Committee (PORC) reviewed the University of Maryland Plan of Organization from 2013 to 2014. During this review process, PORC created a subcommittee to propose revisions to the Senate Bylaws that would conform the Bylaws to changes made to the Plan. In addition, the subcommittee considered changes to all of the standing committee memberships in order to streamline and make them more effective. PORC reviewed the subcommittee's proposed changes to the Bylaws and agreed to make recommendations to the Senate Executive Committee (SEC) for Senate consideration following approval of the Plan. PORC approved the revised Bylaws on December 15, 2014. |
