| Actions: | In September 2018, the University of Maryland Libraries (LIBR) notified the Senate that it had made revisions to its Plan of Organization. It asked that the Senate review and approve its revised Plan. The APPS section was sent to the Faculty Affairs Committee on September 10, 2018.*
The ERG Committee formed a subcommittee to conduct an initial review. The subcommittee reported its findings at ERG's meeting on September 28, 2018. The committee shared its feedback with the LIBR on October 9, 2018. Over the next two months, the committee worked with the LIBR to address issues identified in the committee's review. In late November, LIBR submitted a revised draft.
The ERG Committee voted to approve the revised Plan at its meeting on November 27, 2018, contingent on the approval of the APPS section of the Plan by the Faculty Affairs Committee. The Faculty Affairs Committee subsequently approved that section at its November 28, 2018, meeting.
*Historical Note: When the LIBR Plan of Organization was last reviewed in 2013 (Senate Document #13-14-38), the Plan was approved without the required review of its APPS section. The LIBR intended to make additional adjustments, and agreed to submit revised APPS materials as soon as they finished. ERG received revisions in 2014, though the LIBR did not respond to the committee's feedback. |
