Senate Bill 23-24-20
| Bill ID: | 23-24-20 |
| Name: | Policy Regarding Emotional Support Animals |
| Proposed: | 11/21/2023 |
| Proposal: | The Office of Diversity of Inclusion is requesting that the Senate create a policy regarding the presence of emotional support animals on campus. Currently, the University does not have a campus animal policy or a pet policy. This policy would ensure the campus community is aware of the requirements and exceptions for emotional support animals especially with them residing in on-campus housing. The policy would work in conjunction with Policy Number: VI-1.00 (D) University of Maryland Disability & Accessibility Policy and Procedures. On November 20, 2025, the proposer asked the University Senate Office to close this proposal. |
