Senate Bill 17-18-13

Bill ID: 17-18-13
Name: Review of the University of Maryland College Park Policies and Procedures Governing Faculty Grievances
Proposed: 09/12/2017
Sponsor: University Senate Office
Proposal: The University of Maryland College park Policies and Procedures for Governing Faculty Grievances was created created in 1990 and amended in 2002. The adjudication process is handled through the University Senate and administered by the Senate Office. Because the policy and procedures are utilized infrequently, there a need for clarity in some areas of the procedures. In addition, the policy should be aligned with similar types of policies and procedures. A comprehensive review of the policy and procedures would help add clarity and consistency in the future.
