Senate Bill 15-16-17

Bill ID: 15-16-17
Name: Use of Visiting Faculty Titles for Professional Track Faculty Appointments
Proposed: 12/15/2015
Sponsor: ERG Committee
Proposal: During its review of Senate constituency definitions through its work on apportionment of the University Senate, the Senate ERG Committee realized that faculty with visiting titles have no representation on the Senate due to the fact that these titles do not fit current constituency definitions in the University of Maryland Plan of Organization for Shared Governance and the Bylaws of the University Senate. The ERG Committee also learned of inconsistencies in how the visiting title is applied at the University.
